Craig Luper, Chairperson
Craig is the Executive Director of Nehemiah International Ministry in Concord, NC. Craigwas the Executive Pastor at Crossroads Church in Concord, NC for 10 years. In May of 2011, Craig and his wife Pam stepped out to start Nehemiah International Ministry. Pam and Craig have been married 33 years and have 2 sons, Zach (28) and Jordan (26). Craig loves sport of all kinds and just hanging out with Pam. He joined the Board of Set Free in 2010.
Barb has been actively involved at First UMC in Ephrata, PA, since joining in 1994. She is in her fifteenth year there on staff having served in several positions, currently in the area of Renewal and Vision. In her spare time Barb enjoys reading and staying connected with her husband Bob (married 44 years), three children and eight grandchildren! Barb graduated from Cornell University with a degree (BA) in Mathematics and worked in the Data Processing field for a few years before taking time off to be a full-time mom while their children were growing up. She has been serving on Set Free's Board of Directors since 2011.
Nancy answered God's call in 1995 to leave her home church, First United Methodist Church in Salisbury, NC, to help plant a new contemporary church, Crossroads United Methodist in Concord, NC. She has served on the staff at Crossroads since December 1995, and is presently the Director of Missions and Outreach. Nancy has a passion for serving the poor and the hurting, and enjoys equipping/mentoring others to put their faith into action by serving in their community as well as around the world. Nancy has been on mission trips from the North Carolina coast to Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico Colombia, and Nicaragua. She became an Ordained Chaplain in 2011.
Nancy also has an Associate in Science Degree from Wingate University in Medical Assisting. She married Chip Friend in 1978, and they have 2 grown children who are married, two granddaughters and a grandson on-the-way. Nancy met the Malinich family when they served at Crossroads Church in 2001. She began serving on Set Free's Board of Directors in 2012.
Peter is currently pastoring Freedom Community in Shrewsbury PA. He and Susan celebrate 41 years of marriage and have two sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren. Peter has served in three congregations in his 37 years of ministry; in two he has been part of the leadership that founded and planted the works. He continues to travel, teach, and encourage congregations in the Northeast US, and in Western Africa. He is passionate about the Body of Christ functioning in cities and regions as One, and continues to encourage genuine relationship, prayer and friendship among Pastors. Peter has served on the Set Free Board since 2012.
Howard retired from Woodstream Corporation in 2008 and founded Lift Up Jesus – Higher Together; a ministry that seeks to multiply the community impact of existing Christian ministries by communicating their activities so others can join with them. The focus is Harford County and the Baltimore metro region of Maryland. He is member of Mountain Christian Church in Joppa, MD - a church founded in 1824 as part of the restoration movement to restore unity to the body of Christ. He is also a member of New Life Christian Community in Bel Air, MD (Pastoral Team Leader) for over thirty years - an interdenominational community of believers unified in vision and mission.
Howard is currently serving a third term on the Set Free Board of Directors (having previously served from 2000-2005 & 2006-2011). Howard and his wife, Barbara, reside in Belcamp, MD and have two sons: David (25) and Adam (20).
